Thomas Claus

Hello everyone!

Christmas is approaching, so I thought it would be nice to dress Thomas up as Santa Claus.

I hope you’ll like this pattern.

Thomas Claus

Leg (make 2)

  • With black, cast on 14 sts and K 1 row.
  • K1, incr K-wise in 12 sts, K1 (26 sts).
  • K 6 rows.
  • K7, K2tog x 6, K7 (20 sts).
  • K 1 row.
  • K6, K2tog x 4, K6 (16 sts).
  • K 2 rows.
  • Leave a long end, change to skin colour and, beginning with a K row, st-st 10 rows
  • Cast off, leaving a long end to sew up the leg.img_2498

Body and head (make 1)

  • With skin colour, cast on 33 sts.
  • Beginning with a K row, st-st 6 rows.
  • Leave a long end, change to red and st-st 8 rows.
  • K5, K2tog x 4, K7, K2tog x 4, K5 (25 sts).
  • St-st 3 rows.
  • Leave a long end, change to skin colour and st-st 2 rows.
  • K2, (M1, K3) x 7, M1, K2 (33 sts).
  • St-st 9 rows.
  • Leave a long end, change to red and and st-st 6 rows.
  • (K2, K2tog) x 8, K1 (25 sts).
  • P 1 row.
  • (K1, K2tog) x 8, K1 (17 sts).

Arm (make 2)

  • With red, cast on 12 sts and, beginning with a K row, st-st 8 rows.
  • Leave a long end, change to white and K 4 rows.
  • Leave a long end, change to green and, beginning with a K row, st-st 4 rows.

Trousers (make 1)

Leg (make 2)

  • ** With white, cast on 21 sts and K 2 rows.
  • Leave a long end, change to red and, beginning with a K row, st-st 10 rows **
  • Break off the yarn and leave a long end.
  • Transfer the sts to a spare needle.

Upper part

  • K across the sts on the needle and across those on the spare needle, knitting the last st of the one leg together with the first st of the second leg (41 sts)
  • St-st 7 rows.
  • Leave a long end and change to white.
  • ((K3, K2tog) (K4, K2tog)) x 3, K3, K2tog, K3 (34 sts).
  • K 2 rows.
  • Cast off, leaving a long end.
  • Close up the trousers, colour by colour.
  • Sew to the body at the first line of the upper body.img_2500

Hat (make 1)

  • With white, cast on 36 sts and K 2 rows.
  • Leave a long end, change to red and, beginning with a K row, st-st 8 rows.
  • (K2, K2tog) x 9 (27 sts).
  • St-st 5 rows.
  • (K1, K2tog) x 9 (18 sts).
  • P 1 row.
  • K1, K2tog, K to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1 (16 sts).
  • P 1 row.
  • K1, K2tog, K to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1 (14 sts).
  • P 1 row.
  • K1, K2tog, K to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1 (12 sts).
  • St-st 8 rows.
  • Leave a long end, change to white and, beginning with a P row, st-st 6 rows.
  • P1, P2tog x 5, P1 (7 sts)
  • BOPT
  • Close up the hat, colour by colour, put a bell in the white top part of the hat and bind it off.
  • Sew the hat to the head at the last row in skin colour.img_2499

Scarf (make 1)

  • With white, cast on 80 sts and K 2 rows.
  • Cast off, cut the thread and weave in the ends.
  • Tie a bell on each end of the scarf.img_2501
