Simple hummus

This is a basic hummus recipe which I have tweaked over the years.

I make it nearly every week and it was also part of the picnic I prepared for a friend and my menu for the Joyful Warrior Healthy Menu Planning Challenge.

Simple hummus

Ingredients (makes about 550 g)

  • 2 400 g tins chick peas
  • 2 large cloves of garlic
  • 6 tsp tahini
  • 12 tbsp olive oil
  • pepper
  • salt

Method

  • Put all the ingredients in a food processor and blend until fully combined and smooth.
  • Don’t add all the oil at once but keep adding as you go along until you got the consistency you like.
  • Serve in small bowls with plates of nacho’s, carrot and cucumber sticks.
